Zeoraima Project Hades Ita

Rhapsody

Last Friday morning, Nils Mönkemeyer and I visited in the Maria-Sibylla-Merian-Gymnasium in Krefeld. After the concert on Thursday, which also was a nice reception, then there is a already so before it came alsob still middle of the night was ... At breakfast waiting Sabine von Imhoff, project manager of the project's "Rhapsody in School" to me even then with a strong cup of coffee. It was the first time that Nils and I took part in this great project that was founded on the initiative of the pianist Lars Vogt.
Many orchestra musicians are now regularly in schools, present your instrument, and talk about music - and here at the Lower Rhenish Symphony in Krefeld / Mönchengladbach is an absolutely outstanding educational program developed by the orchestral musicians and the concert playwright Stephanie Riemenschneider. Lars Vogt asked why soloists and conductors who are longer in a certain area in the morning is gonna wind up anyway just in the hotel room, really not able to provide a social contribution report, and in a music lesson of your passions. Many of our colleagues have joined this great project. And I was just the first conductor.

We had not really discussed, just last week us to pass the time ideas like "Cage's 4'33" and "piano stool move up" and "viola execute Page", etc. until the 13th Minute of the lesson talked ... :-) But it went off spontaneously and very fluently ... Date We played two songs by Schumann and Mendelssohn, the Nile then on Saturday is for Sony, and we have to keep telling about our professions. Nils has played a lot, and a very authentic and inspiring way - demonstrated his instrument, and the children were allowed to try it - just as he is holding! I then told a lot about the profession of a conductor, and of course with the children made music together. The teacher had the final song of 9 Beethoven prepared and the students have sung in a touching way in many musical versions under the direction of your co-students Tim and Liam, with orchestral accompaniment of the "Nils Symphony"!

On Friday evening there was still a very intense atmosphärreiches and last concert of the Lower Rhine in Krefeld Symphony Orchestra - and again all were really like! It was a wonderful experience to be able to give four concerts in a row, while trying out a lot. The orchestra responded well, and it was really great fun! By the way, on Thursday were even "Hagen fans" here! ...

Now I'm finally back to my apartment to Amsterdam, after several weeks have been back from home. I am extremely happy now spend some time in this beautiful city can be - though I hope that the electrician or plumbing hastens: this morning in the shower, I then found that the temperature of the shower water could not be put on Siberian conditions. ..!... Well, at least I'm awake now ...

Gay Cruising Spots England

Rule number Six

A few years ago I followed a course in conducting with Benjamin Zander. Ben is the conductor of the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, and currently does with the Philharmonia Orchestra in London on a Mahler cycle. He has written with his wife Roz a fantastic book, "The Art of Possibility." The book is all possible in principle (musician) life, and is a real recommendation for non-musicians!

In this book written, among other things, the fact that we humans take in our daily life is often much too important. If you look back too much wind makes for nothing, it's always good to have someone puts everything in proper perspective. The Zanders call

"Rule Number Six." Do not take yourself so goddamn seriously "

We conductors are there mostly not so good in. .. Herbert von Karajan, the famous conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic, rose again after a trial in his limousine, and spurred his driver to drive away quickly. "Drive ... Drive!" The driver replied. "No problem, Mr. von Karajan But where to?". The answer came immediately von Karajan. "That makes me do nothing - you need a conductor like me everywhere !"...

Although, as with conductors, thank God there are exceptions, also have other artist so your quirks. Just as, for example, the photographer who last Tuesday without any inhibitions placed almost between the double bass of the Lower Rhenish Symphony Orchestra while at the Flying Dutchman overture to produce a beautiful picture.

Or ... Music Critics ... is glorious here the famous satire "The music critic" by Georg Kreisler:

Today, every newspaper
Larger spread by music critics,
And so have I, too, the honor
And to you know career as a music critic.
ka I do have a clue what music is,
Because I am professional pharmacist,
But I know very well what is criticism rejoice
The worse, the more the people.
One of my duties,
Nice crush as a music critic,
Should I find something beautiful,
Do I's stop as a music critic.
not an artist I can outwit
I do not understand even what he does.
Therefore I say to each composer
Only after he is dead, he's good!
Yes, finally I got a job,
And the paper can be what it will cost.
I sit on the first place,
And the singers see my grimace.
Orff and Egk and Boris Blacher
fear filled my mocking laughter.
Hindemith, Stravinsky and Varèse
are good, but I'm bese.

Why am I writing all this?

Because I happened on the weekend something crazy! The following passage was namely in the Siegen newspaper , as criticism of the revival of the great novel-Hovenbitzer staging of Heggie's "Dead Man Walking" by Hagen, theater and orchestra:

POWERFUL MUSIC THEATER
Siegen - "Dead Man Walking" as a modern opera: Gripping and touching
Theater and the Philharmonic Orchestra Hagen impressed with the Apollo Heggie's opera.
... The Philharmonic Orchestra of Hagen under the direction of Antony Hermus subscribed flat sound patterns guide the audience during scene changes, the orchestra performs extensively throughout ....

Unfortunately I was not in victories this weekend, but in London ... The credit for this recovery fully merited and brought all my fellow Steffen Müller-Gabriel of this really heavy piece with great aplomb and security across the stage has! ...

And what you think, after ten minute was excited about a music critic, who has not even bothered to deal with the press department of the theater cast delivered days in order to ensure a certain respect for the artists? ...

Exactly ... Rule number six! ...

Jewellery Retail Position - Cover Letter

night and fog

the moment I'm in Mönchengladbach, Rheydt to be exact. The whole last week rehearsing with the Dutch Rhenish Symphony Orchestra for your 2nd Symphony concert, which we have played the first concert last night. A great program, with the highlight Berlioz Harold in Italy, with the Shooting Star Nils Mönkemeyer as a violist. Unbelievable what a great sound he conjures from his viola - and that has both me and the Orchestra heaviest impressed! He is also very straightforward and very simple, full of energy. Now we play it three more times - and that's really beautiful: because you can still try it out a lot!

The big night and fog action was then last weekend, where I and the director of Tsar Saltan (which I will conduct the opera in March 2009 at Opera Zuid) flew to London. We both had seen the piece by Rimsky Korsakov, or never heard, and on Saturday night was listed in Sadler's Wells Theatre this magnificent opera by Gergiev's Mariinsky Opera! Sybrand van der Werf is a very energetic and imaginative young director and it was a great opportunity to exchange us this opera, and tell us a bit more familiar. It started with the cappuccino before the flight, went on a bus trip to the center, bookstore visits, a Chicken Burger with Pints of Lager while enjoying a football match and a fish restaurant, Bishins to the actual theater.

And what we saw was magnificent productions of art first degree. Stage design by cardboard, cardboard box of wine glasses, pleasing dance, unintelligible and exuberant costumes, but somehow ... Atmosphere! And what a music! And the "Flight of the Bumble Bee" (coming from the opera!) Sounded excellent! The orchestra was great fun, especially when the "stage smoke" came down, and the 60-year-old bass player tried quite dry this wegzupusten :-).

Freek, a friend from my former student orchestra and now a professor at the London Business School, accompanied us, and told that Sadler's Wells some years ago was almost broke, but that the new director has been able to artistically high-quality events to make additional lure audiences back, making it come back into the black. What a performance! It is one of the largest theater in London, with a capacity of almost 1600!

then went on the night and fog action: it was a cozy pub found out was just a 30-year anniversary celebration. Since we were not too shy to congratulate the pretty young lady (Dutch cheeky), we were naturally a bit of the delicious birthday cake and we have enjoyed themselves immensely ... And as usual the Bell rang at 11, it was a bit later - which came toward us very much because we had booked the flight clock 7.00, and had provided no hotel ... After a short nap at the airport we hare, then rose in the machine that brought us back to Germany.

The greatest highlight of the trip was indeed once musically of Art Just the thought alone makes fear me again ... What had happened? ... On landing, after about 24 hours almost continuously monitored and to have been at a slightly increased sensitivity to all areas in fortissimo sounded through the speakers Ryanair exactly what you need in the early morning, played by a top-class synthesizer synthetic ... namely ... the world-famous ... SECOND-MARCH!! /&%$/&%$

No reason to panic! ...

yesterday after a really great concert at the Concertgebouw was! It was a crazy program, with early works by Prokofiev and some modern works, all conducted by the enthusiastic David Robertson. After the first piece of Tristan Keuris the piano should be brought to the stage for the First Piano Concerto of Prokofiev. Concertgebouw one has for a great design: the piano is brought up with a sort of lift, and comes "out" of the stage - all the strings have to sit up front will also leave your place shortly. The ingenious Concertgebouw Orchestra has a quasi "Background Music" program for this conversion a piece for wind instruments, double bass and percussion by Mayke Nas, which was played during the setting up of the piano. Mayke is the granddaughter of Louis Toebosch, and with her I'm still studying in Tilburg! ... This highly inventive piece has a title which make great today on all financial markets would be: "NO REASON TO PANIC !"...

After playing this piece Enrico Pace the soloist in the Prokofiev - with breathtaking virtuosity and render delicacy rarely heard! Enrico was five years of the pianist in the 2nd Brahms Piano Concerto in my inaugural concert in Hagen, and it was extremely nice to meet him during the break - because Leonard (also former de Tiègeschüler) and I were so bold to just enter the soloists room ...!

After the break, a fantastic piece of Sofia Goebajdoelina was played - what an incredible power that music at the Concertgebouw developed! The large-organ Maarschalkerweert with the high virtuoso Leo van Doeselaar sounded phenomenal! It was also great to see the composer himself, and to observe how happy she was with this evocative performance. Finally, the sound extremely difficult and keikele first Symphony (Classical) Prokofiev, who is currently in Hagen on the program! ...

way, I'm starting on Thursday of large enemy of the German Orchestra Association! :-) And I have absolutely no sympathy for striking more musicians!! :-) :-)

What happened?

I was on Thursday in Tosca in Dortmund. Anne Marie Kremer sang a great title role, and my mentor and friend, Jac van Steen conducted. In the beginning the idea was a member of the union would explain why the musicians make a so-called "warning strike". It's about the uncoupling of the civil service and other conditions in the negotiation stage with the club for four years can not be brought to agreement. So far still okay.

But this delay lasted 10 minutes. Following the presentation are Maestro van Steen and I grew in double quick time in the car. Goal was that he would take me to the night train from Eindhoven 23:57 so I still at a fairly Christian clamors to time in Amsterdam would. This delay we arrived just five minutes late for this train, which meant I on the night train from half an hour later, as a bonus for the ticket, take a sightseeing tour "Holland-by-night" I get (Tilburg-Breda -Rotterdam-The Hague-Leiden-Schiphol) to enter and probably counted SHORTLY AFTER HALF FOUR (!!!) my Amsterdam apartment was! ... /&%$/&%$/

But as always, it also helps here, if one just stays calm ... And again and again repeated the words of healing Kompostion of Mayke Nas: NO REASON TO PANIC!

PS a small addendum: This whole passage around the DOV and striking musicians is meant, of course humorous - and in no way a political statement! After five years of hard struggle in culture Hagen everyone can hopefully my attitude to savings in the cultural sector or non-respect to think over performing artists.
Or something like a Dortmunder colleague said ...: "If the boss will simply drive faster !"... (Even faster ?..........)

Professional Paparazzi Cameras 2010

Master Class

Last Sunday we had the last concert with the Gelders Orchestra. The concert was in Nijmegen, in the beautiful concert hall "of the Vereniging. (!) Again, difficult questions received from my friend and former professor Maarten Brandt supplied the discharges (and of course we have been drinking gin before the start!) - And almost my whole family was present, including my agent Eric and his wife . Dvorak again rang 5 and the beautiful Rococo Variations with Gavriel Lipkind. I've never been to the concert hall - and what a revelation! And afterwards dined was happy with everything!

Last night I had then a Master Class by Gavriel attended in Utrecht at the Academy of Music - and I'm also landed himself behind the piano with Elgar's Cello Concerto ...! What kind of gigantic energy this boy! With great patience and passion he hielf the numerous students on their way to tonality, phrasing, tone and "playing out of the box". It was a great pleasure to be able to see this and it has really inspired me. Then I went with him to his family in Utrecht, where we both were warmly received and we finally had some time about something else but the pace and the transitions of the Rococo Variations to entertain!

Will Having Herpes Disqualify You Navy

Summary

After a terribly long time no blog entry I once again try to pick up! The last weeks were so full, so intense and so labor-rich, I'm just not come to ... But now!

A small summary of the events of recent weeks, although I did not call anything can ...:

- Have a wonderful open air concert in Duisburg Duisburg conducted with the Philharmonic. Sergei Nakariakow, the Paganini of the trumpet, played brilliantly - despite almost cold - and Geert Chatrou, world champion whistler, was, as always unbeatable. More than 3,000 men were present, and many dear friends from Holland and Hagen had taken the trouble to attend the concert. After that we were the director of the Duisburg Dr. Alfred Wendel yet led to a Greek, and have refreshed a little overwhelmed kitchen. Great fun!

- A day after that it went even further in Bochum cope with the much vaunted Bochum Symphony Orchestra. We had a heavy schedule - the complete Ma Vlast by Bedrich Smetana, among other things, the famous Vltava River. It was back to work to time very nicely with the orchestra. Best news of the week was the there was new life in the family Weitzel, and then Dad was very proud ("I can only girl" award was wonderful!). During the week was a great chain of great meetings with dear friends is a source of bread needed more energy. Twice went to eat after the concert - after the first concert with the whole Bosy-team and after the second with very dear friends who had come especially in a fantastic sushi shop!
- Here's a clue to get recommend to a very book "A Complaint Free World by Will Bowen. Including strap (details on request!) - A real recommendation! After the bus from the Bochum Symphony Orchestra 25 minutes late, established names, was the Message of this book a fruitful hint to the musicians ...!

- Sample Visiting Mariss Jansons and the Concertgebouw Orchestra. They played Bruckner 4, and Jasper de Waal, who also plays in Hagen Strauss showed great musicality and very strong nerves at the beginning. So fine and quiet I've heard the theme of this symphony rare. And often I have such a great coach like Orchestra Jansons seen at work. Very flown and energetic, and incredibly efficient! Great! This week also been watching with Daniele Gatti - was gigantic inspiring!

- mid-September I was then directed at the International autumn days in Iserlohn. Ralph Manno was the Guest soloist on clarinet, and the music school orchestras in the city of Iserlohn, led by Paul Breidenstein has done well! It was incredibly nice to see so many old acquaintances Hagen this weekend!

- Continue to Arnhem, the first time that I conducted in a long time in Holland ... With Het Gelders Orkest a nice program was ready to include the 5th Symphony by Dvorak and Tchaikovsky Rococovariationen, played by Gavriel Lipkind, an absolutely huge talent who fails to recognize the risks of making music to the limits! It was so nice to make music once in Holland, especially in this cute and dedicated orchestra! After the first concert was some days off for almost a week (!), and last Wednesday was only the second concert. Tonight and Sunday follow now 3 and 4, and I'm really looking forward!

- now also been on a visit at Hans Liberg in Utrecht - and that was really fun!

- Last weekend was then in between a nice visit to Paris, where I have worked with Marc Paquien and the two assistants Inaki and Leah the version for Matrimonio Segreto. Marc is a very flown and charismatic director, and he has good ideas - I think this could be really great! Of course, I also visited my beloved agent, Fredo Sartor, and the wonderful atmosphere of this City of Light enjoyed. Notre Dame, Sacre Coeur, it all had to be back in time ... I was running around on Monday as early as 7:30 am - what an energy and inspiration!

- I have further back in Arnhem, spontaneously contacted with my old comrades and co-founder WG-my former student orchestra Ananta, Michiel Köhne. It was incredibly beautiful to watch his family back to the concert last Wednesday, he brought spontaneously with another former WG-residents, Maarten Oldenhof. Seeing the two was a wonderful Überrasschung, which we celebrated with a visit to Arnhemmer nightlife!

So, that was a very brief summary of where I have many other wonderful Meetings and meetings could not even mention at all ...

Now on to the concert! Dvorak, here I come!
