Last Sunday we had the last concert with the Gelders Orchestra. The concert was in Nijmegen, in the beautiful concert hall "of the Vereniging. (!) Again, difficult questions received from my friend and former professor Maarten Brandt supplied the discharges (and of course we have been drinking gin before the start!) - And almost my whole family was present, including my agent Eric and his wife . Dvorak again rang 5 and the beautiful Rococo Variations with Gavriel Lipkind. I've never been to the concert hall - and what a revelation! And afterwards dined was happy with everything!
Last night I had then a Master Class by Gavriel attended in Utrecht at the Academy of Music - and I'm also landed himself behind the piano with Elgar's Cello Concerto ...! What kind of gigantic energy this boy! With great patience and passion he hielf the numerous students on their way to tonality, phrasing, tone and "playing out of the box". It was a great pleasure to be able to see this and it has really inspired me. Then I went with him to his family in Utrecht, where we both were warmly received and we finally had some time about something else but the pace and the transitions of the Rococo Variations to entertain!
